Not to say that all movies are, but some are. They program reactions, ideas and beliefs through the media. "Conspiracy theories" - the term has come a long way, but because the media at large won't recognize the conspiracy that they're hired to protect, they're dubbed "theories". They're a trail of evidence suggesting this is true.

Only because after the whole Mayan calendar not really predicting the end of the world but a "new beginning" and all that all of a sudden people came up with the illuminati taking over the world and blah blah blah.
