TV is very much a waste of time. The internet is much better, but also very wasteful.

They find the time by editing wikipedia at work. Ever think that sticking people in front of computers with internet connections 8-10 hours a day supervising them using only easily gamed nanny software has anything to do with it? Guess it's too pedestrian for you to notice.
