It does sound a bit empty. But that's because their is no one to take the place of Kerry in this lineup. They need another guitar player/keyboard player with backup vocals to get that full Kansas sound on this one.

At his peak Steve Walsh (leader voice) had an impressive register, he was one of the great singers in the history of rock (may be the greatest).

Actually remains something, but not his full brilliance.

Kansas is the best rock band that ever existed, from many points of view... technic, conceptual and musical... all of them masters.

I love Steve Walsh's performances as a member of Kansas when the band was complete but it's not like there are not any good singers any more. Daughtry and Rob Thomas being examples.

Steve just can't sing this song any longer. Move on!

I'm convinced the lyrics in the cd booklet are wrong. I'm guessing-'and there's times when i can't contain all that life is another gain'? Something like that? No way on earth he says 'all the feelings of love i'll gain'.

Steve sounds better now. Guess he cleaned up. I'm guessing all the insane keyboard pyrotechnics on the records was Kerry? Cos this seems so stripped-down. And skipping the middle 8 is criminal. Is Steve that 'basic' on the keys? And...if his voice is that bad why not play the song in a lower key? And yes-when he was 'right' there was no better singer than Steve Walsh.
