5th and final volume in AI video series highlighting Iverson's crossover and other best moves.

This is AI's bread and butter and most famous move. Learned from a walk-on teammate (who AI admits did it way better than him) when he was still in Georgetown, Iverson's crossover quickly became a staple of his early career. During his rookie season he used it at least once, sometimes several times a game leaving a trail of ooohs and aaahs from the fans and plenty of victims including: Stephon Marbury, Mark Price, Penny Hardaway, and the GOAT Michael Jordan.

And like seemingly everything surrounding Allen, his crossover became popular and controversial. Everyone from announcers to the millions of basketball fans started to identify the move with Iverson's game, but coaches complained and refs started calling it a palming violation. Year after year AI started to use it less and less as if it was so devastating the league had to ban it.

Although it became rare for him to use, I think the fact that he used the crossover so sparingly made it even more memorable and amazing when he did. More and more players came into league utilizing the crossover like Steve Francis, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford and almost every guard nowadays has some variation of it in their arsenal. Of course AI, while not the inventor of the crossover, certainly had a huge influence in making the crossover and anklebreaking a popular part of the game today. And the crossover is also one of the biggest reasons Iverson became my favorite player.

credit for footage goes to many different vids and mixes including pennyccw, arhenetwork, jboogie, GoldLionLaker, notnohjwerdna, Cityleaguehoopstv, 2ksportsMIX, Baskdunk and NBA street series. If you see a clip from your video I'll be happy to give credit.

Hope you guys enjoy. Thanks for feedback.

Song is Lux Aeterna (Requiem for A Dream).

  • @TheZahir2009 You mean the greatest SG never to win a ring.He just was small like a PG.

  • @jamn805 AI Crossover Mix Volume 2 - Creating Space Part 2 - The Stepback Cross (some rare clips) as baazbana says. Plus you have to watch more Iverson games to appreciate the fullness of what defenders suffer through. In addition to the fact that his biomechanics fully mimic running off in the direction suggested before the crossover (trust me, when you play against persons with that kind of talent & intuition you'll feel that frustration too) he also just as often beats those who hesitate

  • @jamn805 ----I molded my Crossovers like AI wan i was younger. He crosses to the right but he has a counter crossover for guys who figure out the first one two punch cross. Its the step back crossover through the legs off the first step. he can go both ways but it depends one how his defender is playing him. There are south paw defenders and right handed defenders. Dont ever square of against AI. Its the worst position to be in.

  • Allen Iverson crossed to his right every single damn time and still nobody could figure it out to stop him. NBA players, cmon man!

  • The best PG ever to never win a ring
