@oren76 You have a point sir. Key word in your rebuttal: 'was'. I'm sure that racists all over still play his songs to charge up for their power trips, but I think he's changed his stance. Racist or not, he's still deserving of some respect for many of the songs he's written. Namely 'If that Ain't Country". Oh goodness gracious, I know it contains the N-word, but that song is the real deal.

@SaddleScars Now, it's a pretty good song, but David Allen Coe is one of the most prolifically racist mother fuckers in his day. He spread hate all across the south, so I'm not sure you can exactly call him "the salt of the earth."
