Nextel i680 belt clip holster has a pretty poor design. This has been re-created but I came up with the idea because when I jumped down off the tailgate of my truck my phone fell off. It is a rugged phone and can handle the fall, although I am worried about losing it.

the 680 is a big improvement over the 580. the belt clip was the only issue, and since i've got the new one it works, if you get a 680 and it keeps falling out take it back to the sprint store and get a replacement and all should be fine.

lol, I talked to a sprint field rep,,he said they changed it to the new one you spoke of,but the original was meant to protect the menu window by facing your phone inward!!!! LOL maybe Nextel should have told it's customers that,, or maybe the Rep was full of Kaa Kaa,,,

@wepoppimpin The new holster still faces inward to protect the screen (it just doesn't fall out anymore).

well I hate to tell yall this,,but the clip is designed to protect the visor/lid/front window and leave your top buttons available,,NO? yes turn your Phone around( face inward) ,and insert with the top end first, ,push the lower end in and then try jumping of a 8 foot ladder( if your dumb enough) or maybe three flight of stairs,go running, .... yes amazing, you can thank me later

@wepoppimpin Thanks for the comment. Although you should re-watch the video, re-read the comments. All has been fixed with the new holster. If you have one of the bad holsters you'll know it, because you don't have to jump off an 8 foot ladder or 3 flights of stairs, Just normal activity and you'll end up having it fall off. I've tried with the new holster and it won't come out.

Thanks for the comment: Although I never had that problem with the i580 or any previous Nextel with the dark black holsters. I did get a new holster and it seems to hold much better than the first one, they must have made changes after the first run. I have tested with the new holster and have not had it fall out again. I'm too active to have a phone that falls out that easy.

I have had an i580 for years and it was the same way.. if it wasnt like this it would take two arms to take out of your holster. You get used to having to hold onto it while taking small jarring steps or stomps
