I'm not talking religions here, but the most moral people have always been a tiny minority on the planet. There are few who can claim superior morality and actually be right.

I'm not sure that's entirely fair. There are over a billion Christians in the world, and it doesn't seem at all right to say that a majority, or even a significant minority are any less moral than anyone else. I've lived in a fairly Christian country for most of my life, and most are just as civil and well-meaning as any other people. Forgive me, but making sweeping statements based on simple generalizations just seems baseless. I apologize if I cause offense.

You'd think out of all the voices they assimilated, they'd pick one that sounded pleasant, welcoming and non-threatening. Having to defend against panicked attacks from the civilisations you encounter is a suboptimal use of resources.
