Don't worry Cure fans, ..Robert Smith has been cited in the top 20-30 most influential guitarist in "Guitar Player/Guitar World" magazine. You cannot expect Robert to play as virtuoso like Allan Holdsworth, Vinnie Moore, Malmsteem, ..or else his song isn't going to sound as New Wave as it is/was.
If he plays virtuoso guitar in his songs then none of you/me will be fans of the Cure. It would sound odd. Guitar virtuosity has its place.
