Apparently the none biting thing runs in the family. Chinchillas nip but won't bite, and the nipping is about like someone pushing you away and saying "hey cut that out" and guinea pigs almost never bite or nip, so apparently since they're in a similar family of rodents degu's share this trait. They say that wild ones do tend to bite, but they are easily tamed because they're so intelligent(i was amazed to find out that degus are extremely intelligent.)

oooo, i have mine 2 sister degus since they were little and they can´t stand at one place. they really like to play but i can´t really pet them like you, because they always just want to climb on me :(.

degus kind of remind me of large gerbils. I used to have gerbils, loved them.
do you need to buy 2 or more degus or are theyhappy on their own if u give them lots of attention

They absolutly need to be together. Humans simply cannot replace what one degu means to another degu.
If you have a pair or small group of degus, you will see why it is so important for them to be together and you will have a hard time imagining them on their own.
So, yes you need to get atleast 2 degus.
I will pm you shortly about the details...

Degus will sometimes only bite when they are very young or when they are very stressed out. In truth adult degus never bite unless something is terribly wrong.

When I try to cuddle my degus, it just looks for food, and if there is no food, he squeaks and runs away fast. I've tryed your tips about handfeeding them, but they wont stay calm. They are two boys, and they tend to mate, each time I see them do it, I say "No!" to them. Is this something degues do?
I would've appreciate if you could answer theese questions so my pets altso can be as tame as yours. PS: I got them when they were a little smaller in size than yours, is that why they arent tame?
