(8-26-10 12:09 am) Gig Harbor Fire Department District 5 responding to the area of the Fox Island Bridge for an injury car accident with the car being fully engolfed in flames. The driver was found 20 feet from the vehicle with a leg injury.

  • Thank God for the fire department. It gets pretty scary sometimes! When fire shoots out of a window like a high powered blow torch, you know something is up! Scary!

  • Great recording. I could actually see all of this happening from my front window. It was horrifying to watch, as I didn't know if anyone was trapped inside the fully engulfed burning vehicle. I was about to rush over to help, but I finally saw three passing-by cars stop to assist.

    I was impressed with the fast response of the GH Fire D. due to the semi-remote location of the accident. Couldn't find any news on this. Thought for sure it was worse. So I was relieved to hear of only a leg injury.
