Zachary, me, my dad, and my father in law at a Dodger game.

This is my camera phone video of Jonathan Broxton's final strike (and the joyous insanity that followed) from the Los Angeles Dodgers third and final game against the Cubs. Did I mention it was a sweep? The view from the Right Field Pavilion: you can't see much, but the crowd noise tells the story.

This was the las Dodger game Zachary went to see. It was the playoffs, and it was a win, and it was a series sweep--the first time the Dodgers had won a post-season series since 1988, when I was six years old myself. I'm so happy we all went together, and I'm so happy that Zachary got to see his beloved Dodgers--those Bums--finally succeed. These memories--however pixilated--are priceless.

As you take your kids to baseball games across the country this year, treasure that time. Those 3 hours, the conversations you'll have, the food you'll eat: all of that will mean so much to you some day.
