Hilton Hotel heiress Paris Hilton was sentenced to 45 days, by Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer, in the LA county jail for violating her probation. As a prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother, Kathy, laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?" Defense attorney Howard Weitzman said he would appeal. It will be interesting to see whether she serves time, or this sentence is sent back by the California Appellate system.

Just found out (I dont' watch much TV)guess Paris is going to actually do some time in the clink after all. USALawyer, why do you suppose her people couldn't or didn't appeal or something? I thought for sure she'd get some sort of work-release thing or someething.

My best guess is that her lawyers negotiated for the 45 day down to 23 day reduction AND it looks like they got a change from Compton Women's Prison to a Detention Center (not a club prison) for Police Officers, Celebrities and Persons who may be harmed by the prison population. I am not sure, but the change of prison was probably conditioned on "no appeal."

In all fairness, since her sentence got reduced, she really should serve those 23 days in solitary on bread & water.

Hey, you know why she got her sentence reduced? For "good behavior." Know what "good behavior," the California Court's recognized as Good Behavior. Simply showing up for her Court date. Really! What a goofy system they have in Traffic Court. (Actually its based more on prison crowding than good behavior).

Is she going to go to a regular prison or just county jail? Here in MN there's a difference, not sure about Cali.

Its a county jail. But LA is SO BIG that its county facility is larger than some states jails. (Its multiple facilities, actually).
