Maddah (Prolongation)

Maddah sign indicates to prolong (stretch) the Madd letters Alif waw and ya .

There are several kind of Maddah, Duration of stretching (2 ½ to 5 length of haarakah) and it depends on adjacent letters in a word. The detail rules are essential for advanced learner only and should be master from a qualified teacher.

May Allah make it easy for you to finish learning the Quran. I was in exactly the same situation as you when I was younger. I'd stopped learning the Quran before I could finish it because I'd moved house to where there was no-one qualified to teach me. I wish my parents had insisted on my continuing. The Quran is our life. It's harder to learn when you're older but keep going and you will be successful, InshaAllah.

I left mosque when I moved houses and I was in the middle of Quran and I stopped reading it and now im 14... (And I feel embarrassed when my younger cousins have already finished it but I haven't...)

So I still can read but have forgotten a little bit and sometimes make mistakes.

So just by putting videos up you've really helped and now i'm gonna read the Quran again! :) You feel better when you read, i've realised...
