@XmortdreadX yes u can i tried it

I could see the advantages of this even if one is not looking for redundancy. Adding a second supply gives more "rails" for the system to draw from, meaning it's less likely that one component would cause a voltage fluctuation that would impact the rest of the machine. Of course.. you would be dealing with a very power hungry machine since there are manufacturers who make multi rail single power supplies already.

Hell Yea!! I love finding new and exciting ways to waste power! Raising my "carbon footprint" for the sole-purpose of pissing-off Al Gore is a goal of mine...

I actually want to do this.
I will be buying a 750W power supply, and I believe to have a 200-400w power supply at home.
I was hoping the combination will add up the power, that way I can get more power for my hardware.

would be tolerable if yu get 2 full modular psu. oxx zx series or corsair modular series..then it wouldnt be a cable nightmare but then again just get a 1000w + psu and ur good until ur next upgrade.

@BESTmusic52 great

@raymankisser it should
-
does it work with different PSUs?
got a Dell 475W and NZXT 500W
-
@azurehydra multi psu systems are mandatory for servers, as GOOD servers absolutely must be redundant in almost all components. if you have a gaming rig with something like a 4x crossfire 6990 setup, a dual psu system would be very ideal as well.

@XmortdreadX Yes u can. I have done this as a temprorary fix until my new, more powerful PSU arrives.
that would be a cable management nightmare XD
