Sounds dirty, doesn't it! That's because it is. Have left the basket in all night with a dried puck (naughty me) and gotta give it a quick once over so I can make me morning coffee. No time for soaking portafilters and baskets now! Need caffeine!

  • Good idea, JM. Having some weight on the beans probably helps get a better grind. Me too lazy, tho, for picking up grinder, or unscrewing hopper, after each session. I've found that three level scoops (standard coffee scoop as seen in many stores) is the perfect amount for filling the double basket (this measurement is based om my current grind settings -- adjust to your own needs, depending on your grind settings).

  • consider pouring a heap more of your fresh beans into the EM0480 hopper before grinding on demand (pour 150+gms into it). When your done brewing and drinking, tip the hopper back into your vac sealed container. The EM0480 needs some weight on the beans in the hopper to perform an ideal grind on the beans (I've found)
