Linclon SP-100 Hack so that a user can use the Lincoln Magnum 100 SG spool gun. This video shows that it can work. It does not show how to do the conversion.
I just set my SP-100 to use the 100SG gun. Beautiful welds on 1/20” 1”x1” square aluminum tube using 5356 .30 wire set to F-G 6.5 wire speed. Switched to 4043 wire for 1/8” 1”x1” square aluminum tube using J - 7 setting. My 25 amp line gave better welds but still beautiful welds on the 20 amp line.
My dealer is telling me that a 120 volt machine does not have enough power to actually weld aluminum.... He wants me to buy a new machine. I am running a SP125 Plus. I bet my machine can do it, don't you think? I'd be interested to know if you are willing to share more info on your conversion?
