  • If I am giong to fish for stripers with a sliding rig, what size of hook can I use?

  • It depends on the size of the fish in your area. For example the east coast and ocean stripers tend to be bigger than lake and river ones. Here is my rule of thumb, 30" and under 5/0 30 to 40 6/0 and above that 8/0

  • Last two years ago I was on the south I-5. I can see hundred of seagal attacking them shad so I believe striper was also feeding. Wanted to try it out but the water was dirty there to consumn... I fish far west from the stkton port from Nov to Dec... Now cant wait for the spring run in the sacto river...

  • Yep it's the four B's Birds, Binoculars, Bait fish & Boats!

Keep me posted... Best of Fishin!

  • Thats right down the street from my office, where i keep my 21 north river. that new launch is clean and still free. We should hook up up I've got access to some private bass ponds and the stripers are getting ready to come back in!

  • Do you go all over the U.S. to fish or just one place?

  • @InformativeFisherman Hi, striper are hitting in the sacramnto area now. Last week was hot but now it slow cause of the water is dropping. But upper sac river is also hitting. all the way to colusa area now... water is still high though... some bank fishing are good.

  • I caught my first keeper at 29 inches today because they have to be 28inches to keep

  • /watch?v=HlvS6JWXQL0 i fish the same spot. but I use spro.

  • Sorry, English is my 2nd language, "setting the hook" means the moment the hook got through the fish's mouth?? I never fish before, so may I ask..what do the fish do when they see the bait? will they bite the bait immediately? or they will butt the bait and feel the taste??

And.. should I raise the rod so the hook get through the fish's mouth or winding the reel?? How long do I need to wait if I can feel something touching the bait?

  • nice fishing
