Some Canadians do say "a boat", it's not a slam against Canadians, my mother is from Georgia and when she says Michigan is sounds like McChicken.
Maybe you just don't notice it because you say 'a boat" too.

@NikitasGuitars: What happens if you're going with a couple of guitars.. buy seats for all of them?

Hi. The Canadians I've been most exposed 2 have been from the Ontario area, from south of Toronto or so. I'm from the northeast of America & it has always sounded something like "a boat" when they say the word 'about.' Kind of like "uh bote." But of course I'm sure there are words I say that'd sound a little different to them from the way they might be said in Canada. No one hears their own 'accent' because theyre used to it. By the way, Canada's a pretty wonderful country.

no we say about for some reason Americans thin it sounds like what ever. We have different dialects etc across the country (more so where I'm from) and another Canadian never thinks we say aboot.....not sure why Americans think that's what we say?

The sad thing was that the company only took action once they were embarrassed as the video went viral. Well done Dave sorry the guitar was never the same even after repairs. They put Dave through all the red tape to try and get him to drop it..glad United got the egg on their face. We'll take your money but not offer good service, Dave got the last laugh RIGHT ON DAVE!!!

yeahh kickass!!!

Just a note. It's always sounded to me much more like Canadians say "aboat" (rather than aboot). Eh? (Also Canadian.)
-
Sounds like "about" to me.

he didn't have to say he was canadian all he had to say was "aboot (about)" at 1:00
