Musical instruments under 41 or 45 linear inches can be carried on and DON'T count as a carry-on! Try to carry-on and put it in a coat closet, and the worst they can do is make you gate check it, meaning you can WATCH them load AND unload. Not the best solution, but its something.

Loved the video, Dave!

gee hypocrisy kinda hard to view UBG3 seeing as it hasnt been made yet , as to Dave selling out I very much doupt thats happened as well , seeing as Dave refused uniteds offers after UBG1 hit utube and got serious world wide attention . Dave presents as a stand up guy , well mannered and passionate in his beliefs , also a man who stands by his word , see Daves myspace blog where he talks about UBG3 , looking forward to seeing it finally released O , just a hint , it will have a bluegrass feel

I work for United Airlines on the ramp and I just wanted to say that not all of us treat customer baggage like that. I play guitar and I treat everyones instruments like i would my own.. its a job, some people treat it like that, but most of us take pride in what we do.. unfortunatly the airline industry has left alot of employees real disgruntled with loss of pentions etc.. for the rest of us.. we love what we do!

It may be that Dave "sold out ". The other videos, 2 and 3, I could not view. Maybe another corporation bribed Dave Carroll.
Pity.........because I really enjoyed that song, United breaks guitars !

ha ha! thx for the stupid comment! We are talking about his guitar, the instruments and the rest of the equipment go in cargo...... and I don't think he was traveling with a band!!! It is better to have a ATA flight case or take it as a carry on!! so, when bulshoy, next time you take a plane! don't check your bag... no matter if it's UA or not!!

So what, now everyone who plays a guitar is carrying it on? So that's two guitars and a bass guitar on their laps from Halifax to Nashville?

The whole point of checked bags is so you don't have to have your shit on your lap during the flight. It's not too much to ask for handlers not chuck baggage around like juggling pins.
