This is the earliest new-wave song ever made, even before punk got recognized. It is a shame that this song didnt even make into the charts when released in 1978 (!) This is the 1972 version, proof that roxy music was way beyond its time. :)

Ripping performance -- The difference when Eno is there is striking........
Everyone seems to be playing a lot differently, almost like they're squaring off into there own territory. I mean, just listen to how different the bass line is from performances w/o Eno.
Phil plays a piercing, jagged and angular line -- McKay is off in Coltrane Space -- yet, everyone is still listening to each other -- just dig those two smashing breaks! -
And of course, Byran Ferry
