ROBOTRON - 2084 [1982] Arcade Shooter Video Games MAME ROMs

great game..played it all the time back in the 80s and nowadays play it on Midway Arcade Classics (PS2 version)..It's not as awesome without the original controllers though.

what controls are you using for this game ? 2 x joysticks ? Keyboard ? Attached joysticks to a surface ?

lolol 1982 - the memoriesss! cutting class at the ripe age of 11 to go to the arcade.... remember all the noise the arcade made? this game was realllly loud! lol

@solarisgalrocks oh yes i know what you're saying!!!!! using paper clips to open the machines to clock up credits??? couldn't get to the cash box tho!! lol

The sound effects remind me of a really awesome techno song without all that rubbish singing, it is like being high without the badness of it all.

Wonderful.  Robotron 2084 was one of my all-time 80's favourites during its day. Although I could play on the original arcade version for quite some time; with its dual joystick input, I could never master the MAME version. What with wobbly joysticks, joypads, or combinations of joystick and keyboard, they just couldn't cut the mustard for me. Anyhow, if you have done this on MAME, then congratulations! I can never get past the first "Wembley" stage on MAME. Thanks :)

You're pwning it...and I recall that Williams games can NOT be pwned easily. Very steep learning curves and very complex controls were the hallmarks of the Williams Electronics games.

I love this game. Even after 25 years it still delivers a brutal battle.
