Libation is a global soul dance party that takes place every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at Sullivan Room in New York City. It features resident DJ Ian Friday; vocalist/promoter Manchildblack, hosts Afro Mosaic Soul and resident visual artist Concep.

What does this have to do with actual African origin Libation though? Why even call it that?

This is a great question! Libation means the ritualistic pouring of a liquid in honor of deities and/or the ancestors. This ritual has not only been used by Africans but by many cultures throughout history. At Libation (The Global Soul Experience): we dance, we sing, we celebrate, we create and we play music in honor of our ancestors and the higher powers that we each believe in. This is our offering to them. This is the foundation of our event. This is why it is called Libation.
