  • great flyby shot...why can't I get mine to look that good?? arg, I'm frustrated...

  • @dbrasco2069 saw your flyby, looks great, don't know exactly what you mean mine is better? lighting or movement or..?

  • @TREK5SE def the lighting and effects...I'm just having trouble getting the thing over that last hump to look photo-real. Stuck...

  • @dbrasco2069 Ah, see what you mean, in fact it is rather easy if you know how, will PM you about it.

  • This work is amazing. YOU HAVE GOT TO HAVE THIS AVAILABLE FOR DVD SOMEHOW. Post this on Bill's myspace

  • Nice job--but the music drops between the cut to the exterior of the ship and right before the push into the window. Although, nice job on finding a place to fit the Observation Lounge.

  • Fantastic!

  • Superb!

  • Good work!

That exterior tracking shot that leads to Spock's face was brilliantly done!

  • This really is fantastic work. I would love to know how you made this without compromising too many trademark secrets of course.

  • One thing I've noticed about these clips is how much better the live-action material looks when framed by competently executed VFX. When I saw the film in the theater I thought that all of the visuals looked like placeholders in lieu of the finished effects; I seem to recall that Shatner had the same impression when he first saw Ferren's lamentable work. There were structural problems with the script, but Shatner's direction was actually pretty decent -- and good effects may have saved the film.

  • Wow, I'd forgotten what a shit film this was! But seriously, the quality of your work is astounding! Paramount should just buy it and release it on DVD!

  • absolutely falwless

  • Great work, but I have a couple suggestions for ya (only because I don't have the technical know-how to put this stuff together and make my own!)

    1. Slow down the close-up on Spock. It's a beautiful shot, but as the camera zooms in, it's too fast. It doesn't fit the style of 1989 filming.

    2. Move the shot of Enterprise arriving at Nimbus III to the beginning of the scene. While you're at it, add a a sound effect of the ship flying over head. Sound gives visuals a lot of character!

  • Nothing beats the original Enterprise...

  • I'll take anything over the originals
