When you install this (on an AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800 AM2 on MSI K9VGM-V) would the air flow from 'bottom to top' or 'right to left'?

hey Keith, nice setup dude, surround gaming eh :) Hey, I just got said cooler and i have a question and was wondering if you could help me out (thanks in advance) I will be installing the cooler on my AMD for the first time and was wondering if i need to use thermal paste or does it already have a thermal pad and therefore there is no need to use paste? thx

@baldmanwithBIGlegs Thanks! Well the cooler, like most HSF's, will have the standard greyish paste panel at the end of the cooler, so you can use that if you want to. It is up to you whether you use the stock paste or get your own. Since i planned on doing extensive gaming I bought some Tuniq TX-2 thermal grease, but the stock will work ok. I would recommend that after a year or so you replace it with thermal grease or paste, since it dries out over time and transfers less heat.

@entrailsgalore Tsup dude, isn't the new Rev.2 pre-applied thermal paste MX-2? Thats what i've heard but I just got a rev.2 it said it was an updated version as of November 2010. MX-2 paste is pretty decent, I like it anyway and atm using MX-3. Cool vid anyway

@TIZ012 That I am not sure, but it sure is decent paste compared to other coolers I have seen, so you are probably right. It has been working well so far, I haven't had the need to replace it with anything else yet. Thanks for the comment!
