  • Mayor Richard M. Daley was an enigma, but he shouldn't be blamed for everything. He became less enamored with the Polish community after so many switched to the Republicans. Hence, as they didn't really support the organization (there is no longer a Machine,) they got less, or nothing, of the pie. It's simple politics and it isn't always pretty.

  • One more thing. In all the years Mayor Daley was in office, how many Pol-Ams did he hire? None? I can't think of any,can you? I think he'd hire people from outer space before he helped a Polish- American So why support his machine? Makes no sense at all.

  • These Democrats love the Polish community...so long as you stay out of the political life of the city. They love your kids...until they're old enough to get a city job or run for an office. Then they're just people with the wrong last name from the wrong ethnic group. I hope some day you will understand this and stand up for yourselves.
