  • what episode is this from? season?

  • This was a nice moment. It was sweet for Toby to stick up for Sam, all the while screaming at him in the hallway and threatening to chain him to his desk! haha

  • Only the West Wing can have you LOL-ing and give you a warm fuzzy feeling all at the same time... :)

  • @tussuduftid That's what I said -- sorry if I said it confusingly. CJ and Toby are close in age, and so are Josh and Sam, which causes the four to pair off into their respective best-friendships. And yeah, Josh is definitely a lot younger than Brad is in real life :)

  • @grumpytosnowwhite I feel the need to point out that CJ was probably supposed to be only a few years older than Josh... given that Bradley Whitford (while, indeed, looking 10 years younger than his age) and Allison Janney are the same age in real life.

In the first season I would put Sam's age at the early 30s, Josh at about 35 and CJ at 40 or so. Definitely a larger age gap between CJ and Josh than Josh and Sam, but not very big either... at least not to me :)

  • Very true :)

  • @grumpytosnowwhite I agree with you. I just always saw Josh and Sam as twins. That whole incident with the fireplace, their general interactions, it was like they shared a brain.

Also, Sam was the only person, other than Donna, who could ever talk Josh down from "the edge" be it in the deposition scene when he almost slugged the lawyer, to the end when Sam stepped in to tell Josh he needed a vacation. No one else, not even Leo, had the ability to do that like Sam.

  • Of course! I feel the same way, it's just that I was talking specifically about this scene right here, and Josh wasn't in it, so I didn't mention him. You're so right about the big four being like siblings, but I would put Josh as older than Sam (Josh has classic middle-child syndrome, and Sam is so much the adored baby). However, there would be just a small age gap between him and Sam, then a big age gap between Josh and CJ, and then another small age gap between CJ and Toby.
