Val deserved an Oscar nomination for sure. He would have lost to A. Hopkins but he deserved a nomination.

@Kicksmeintheshowers Exactly what I think. Hopkins should have been in the supporting catagory where he would have won. He's has less screen time as H. Lechter than probably any leading actor who has ever won (which is a superfilous point, I'm just saying ...) and Val is on screen for nearly every second of "The Doors" and a gave a remarkable performance.

All of Oliver Stone's movies are interesting. He never made a boring movie. Somehow It took balls to make "The Doors" and portray such an intriguing, legendary artist as Jim Morrison.

@hivernales I agree. Interesting thing in the L.A. Times yesterday where Ray Manzarek is quoted as saying the Stone picture isn't any good, but that's only because of the new documentary and he (Manzarek) stands to make money from it. I remember specifically that Manzarek said he loved "The Doors" movie when it was originally released. It's a great film and one of the best leading performances ever!!! Kilmer kicked ass! Thank you for commenting!

never even knew there was such a good movie about Jim

such a complete long-lenght movie about the entire doors story..

might not be close to being the actual truth but i dont mind

great tracks, great great acting performance and god I LOVED IT! watch it!!!!
