Forced to give up his dreams of art school, Zach spends his days working a dead-end job and helping his needy sister care for her son. In his free time he surfs, draws and hangs out with his best friend, Gabe, who lives on the wealthy side of town. When Gabe's older brother, Shaun, returns home, he is drawn to Zach's selflessness and talent. Zach falls in love with Shaun while struggling to reconcile his own desires with the needs of his family.
"Shelter" is the most celebrated gay film this film festival season. It is being heralded by critics everywhere as the next landmark film in gay cinema.

This is indeed a very very good movie i think it's because we all can relate in some shape or form. The fact that we think about our first realization, first encounter with being who we really are and wondering if it's right or wrong. Wondering if we belong some where, having difficulties accepting yourself and your family accepting it as well...i haven't seen latter days i hope it's her eon youtube i'm about to watch it...
