my mom use brown sugar instead. it brings out a rich nice brown color to the rice

thank you for the recipes! i always wanted to make this myself. Today i got my 11 Year old daughter to help me this, its her first cooking lesson! you are right about the cream, i think it will taste nicer with the extra cream, i didnt make any because i forget to corn flour from the shop but there are enough rice left for tomorrow. I had it with ice cream like the way they sell it at the Thai restaurant

No offence, but when I read "sweet and sticky" I automatically thought of semen, because semen is sweet and sticky as well.

i am glad to have found this video. reading written directions left me with a lot of questions.

ต้องมะม่วงอกร่อง ไม่ก้อ น้ำตอกไม้เท่านั้น
it must be mango like "Okrong" or " Namdorkmai" only, it s more good smell and good sweet taste.
-
sweet sticky rice with durian is also delicious

มะม่วงที่อร่อย ต้องเป็นมะม่วง ไทย ครับ
I made this. after 10 minutes, the rice was perfect. I recommend not pouring all of the coconut mixture with the rice, just what you need. I left about 1/3 cup out. As for the sauce. it came out too salty. I didn't like it. We just ate the rice the way it was with the coconut mixture and left out the sauce. In the Thai restaurants we've been to, they don't use the sauce either so it really doesn't need it. the rice could probably use less sugar too. Next time I'll use 3/.4 sugar.
