@kretincooper I believe the first Anne novel was written in 1907 or 1909. Ever since, it's been an enormous success worldwide. By "meaning", do you mean what it's about or the purpose behind it? If what it's about, it's more of a coming-of-age/slice-of-life tale about a motermouth but lovable girl who charms the inhabitants of her new town, and how she impacts others as she grows up.
