Ironman Frankfurt, 2011: Breathe the tension on race morning

We have been traveling a lot with our boys Chris, Sebastian, Ronnie and Terenzo this year. Now it was high time to be with our dear biest girls Meike, Nicole and Yvonne in Frankfurt. In the morning when we met in transition none of us expected such race to be ahead of everybody. Weather conditions have been aweful, cold, wet and windy. In the morning all 3 girls have been focused and determined in their very own way of being. But then the weather destroyed dreams or carried others to unexpected results.
So, Meike was happy with 6th place after a long period of disappointing races, Yvonne had put herself under a pressure of expectation, and could not deliver as she wanted. Nicole had to tick off this race. It was to cold for her on the bike, a DNF that was not easy for her to get out of her system.
Interesting to see them on race morning. Maybe you can read already in their faces what was going to happen on this day in July?
