I'm surprise you don't use sleeves, thimbles, and ring setup. It should put less stress on the heavy line.

i always use sleeves for goliath grouper but i guess i'll try that knot next time i go out.. it looks like once you get the hang of it that it would be easier than crimping sleeves lol.
