  • When I extract the audio and convert to WAV, not only is the music slowed down but it's choppy and really muddled for some reason. The game in question I'm trying to extract audio from is Rise of the Robots. The first track extracts flawlessly but all other tracks have the slow, choppiness as if the entire track isn't being extracted in whole. Seems impossible to fix using an audio editor unless you have an idea. Could it be that the index needs to be expanded for the audio of this game or...?

  • @Psychlonic Change the frequency, and also, have you tried the latest version of jpsxdec?

  • lol I never considered jPSXdec could be used for something like this. Very clever. I'll have to look into adding CDi music handling in the next jPSXdec version. It shouldn't be hard since it's the same format as Playstation 1.

  • The only thing that's too bad with jPSXtool, i can't convert any video data from the CDi games. I can't give you technical information, but i know it's using CLUT or DYUV for the background, and Run Length for the animated cartoons.

  • Oh yes, also, I can only assume whatever is causing these files to read as chopped in the new version is why they sounded choppy using the RAW files from the old version, even if the old version was able to extract them in whole I'm guessing it simply can't do it correctly. Said choppiness is more than mere breaks in the song too, unfortunately, so I can't edit them out. New version + ??? is the only way to get these songs, it seems.

  • ...the new jPSXdec's function to select all doesn't seem to be working and selecting each section individually would take ages just to finish a single song. Suffice to say, I'm still exploring options but thus far the stage music is a no-go.

  • The new jPSXdec exposed the problem but presented a new one. At first I was only getting 3 menu songs and none of the other tracks were showing. There were hundreds of thousands of 1 second tracks. Then I realized that for whatever reason, the new jPSXdec isn't combining the sectors into individual tracks. I confirmed this by opening up one of the RAW rips I made from the older .35 version and all tracks were of the same song. I could theoretically save all the fragments and combine them but...

  • @KiiroBomber Thanks for the reply, I'll give it a try and let you know how it goes. And yes, I've tried the newest version but it ran frustratingly slow for some reason. Scrolling became laggy, mouse button presses delayed, etc. Maybe it's a bit faster on the rig I transferred everything over to. But anyways cool, thanks again for the prompt reply.

  • if you speed the 15th _am.rtf thingy music 3x up it is the music of a level.

    i am stupid

  • if you extract the 15th sound file of a L[level here]_am.rtf and wait until the speaking is over there is some scary as hell music.

    I have nightmares now

  • why don't you do a video to show us how to emulate CD-I games perfectly

  • could you rip the music from Space Ranger on the CD-i and upload it to youtube please I would be really grateful if you could thanks =)
