I have one of your old model of messenger bags. Its great to see that the new battery has a USB port and new design. Compared to other portable the Amp seems to be much better in cost and specs.

That's a complicated question. For the solar panels, the solar cells come from Germany (Bosch), the coating is from a US firm, the backing on the panel is Taiwanese, the assembly is done in China and then we do final assembly of the Amp and testing here in the US.
No luck on charging a laptop, but you could charge most tablets that charge at 5V (like the iPad)
