Acid Bath was formed in 1991. The band was based south of New Orleans, Louisiana in several small towns including Houma, Thibodaux, Morgan City, and Galliano.

One of Acid Bath's most trademark sounds was the way in which they crafted multiple tempo changes and worked them into the song structure. Their experimentation drifted into diverse territory. The song "Scream of the Butterfly" is an acoustic blues song with the drummer utilizing double bass drum patterns toward the end of the song. The song "The Bones of Baby Dolls" experiments with folk musicianship, and the song "Dead Girl" is a country song and was described as such by Dax Riggs.

  • Picture if Acid Bath did cover House of the Rising Sun though....how wicked it would be.

  • @337camo A band that can write 'The Bones of Baby Dolls' could cover this song with ease.

  • Yes AB had a keyboardist... His name was Thomas Viator... This isn't AB though... Listen to the guitar tuning... AB played 1 1/2 steps down from 440 hertz (which is standard tuning) This is Daisy Head and the Moon Crickets actually.... Dax's first group after Agents... Right before Dead Boy and the Elephant men.... Dax cites the documentary he saw as a child about the elephant man as the reason he cancelled his subsription to the resurrection as a pre teen Jahovah's witness in Indiana...

  • @slikchoux I think Daisyhead came before Agents, and the song I posted was Agents.

  • @DancingMedicineMan JAMES HETFIELD?! Are you fucking serious? Even if you listen to the early Golgotha days, Dax sounded nothing like Hetfield.

  • Dax Riggs' voice is equivalent to that of an angel on acid and heroin.

  • Morgan City FTW

It all started for me at Lakewood hospital way back in 1990...

still go back down to Pierre Part every chance i get

  • i can hear the drugs

  • @TornIntoEnthrallment Yeah, I've been a fan of Metallica since 1985 and I became a fan of Acid Bath in the early 90's. I have seen Acid Bath live in Panama City Beach twice @ Mescalito's and I have never thought of James Hetfield while listening to them. I met Audie and actually talked with him at a table. I miss him. He made me feel like a friend even though it was our first meeting.

  • your right daisyhead was before agents

  • Stunning song. Really...

  • @dressedupinsmoke dat's right..u know your stuff concerning all things dax that's for sure...ALL HAIL ACID BATH FOREVER!!!!

  • it is agents. i saw them play this live while my band, hate theory did a couple tour dates with them half a life ago.

  • This isn't Acid Bath, nor is it Daisyhead. This is Agents of Oblivion, 3-12-2000 in Omaha, NE. I had this exact show on VHS 10 years ago. Agents would always play either this song, or "Neighborhood Threat" by Iggy Pop, to close their shows. And, for the record, Daisyhead was a project Dax had from 1995-1997. Agents didn't form until 1998, and Deadboy didn't form until 2000 AFTER Agents disbanded (though Dax performed the Deadboy theme song on a Daisyhead recording).

  • Sorry. Jax was a typo, I meant Dax.
