i was there in 1984 and 1985 as a 21 year old and i still think about ios and the it was the best holiday i ever had .

I went to Ios in abt 1984. It was like Mars. One small town, no roads, If you wanted to go anywhere you had to take a boat and nobody wore any clothes on the beaches! Looks bloody horrible now!

Went there six times in the 80's. Still looks as good now as it did then! Great during the day and fab at nite. I just can't believe it's still (relatively) unspoilt. Google 'torremolinos' in Spain and you'll see what I mean. Oh, and by the way, Ios stands for "I"rish "O"ver"S"eas. Must organise a trip back ;)

I met my husband on Ios in 1976. He was there with a bunch of friends and I was on vacation with my friends. The magic of the island was wonderful. Three months later we were married. Still are! Thanks for sharing!! Hardly any place to stay back then. We all slept on the beach!
