@nxn8690 discrimination against who??????

@nxn8690-You aren't taking into account for the other side of the equation. look at nations where hatred and bigotry is tolerated also look at countryes where governments don't help their lower class to escape from poverty. These countries are ALL third world countries for a reason. They are a mess with massive poverty rates and social unrest. The western "workfare" system is much cheaper over the long run.

The part about a Hitler like demagogue, it made me sick for a second. That is all too possible, and fuck.... god damn.... I'll probably live to see it....

In the US 1/3 of Welfare is done by Private Donation, even after all that Tax. I like Chomsky in his Linguistics. However I find his Political Views are too much of one sided. I like his Anti-War, Anti-Establishment Stuff, but I don't care about his Equality Stuff. There should be no Government makes me to help ppl nor makes me to like Everybody. These must be Voluntary. Also, we should get rid of the Affirmative Action, since it's a Discrimination by the Government.

In addition every day is Crisis for the Poor. I believe that's what Poor means. I'm poor(my living expense per a month is about $1000CAD). But I don't need help. I'm still Young & Healthy. I know that I will do better in the Future.

We live in a Society where there is no Longer Governmental Discrimination of certain Race or Gender, except the Affirmative Action. So, one thing is clear, Discriminating Women & Color ppl aren't the Government Policy these days. For an Individual, each person has Right to have their Opinion & Feelings about other ppl, Regardless of the Nature of their Feelings & Opinions. Likewise ppl have Freedom to make Choice over Helping the Poor, since Helping is Voluntary , Not Mandatory.

if only this symbolic coming together of people for an economic crisis was true, you should look at another talk of chomsky's explaining the food crisis where there is obviously an extremely lack of caring for the poor,
"crisis and hope: theirs and ours"

those issues are still relevant more so today than back then.

If he doesn't approve her, then it's good.

Chomsky does not approve of Palin. He once said "This Sarah Palin phenomenon is very curious. I think somebody watching us from Mars, they would think the country has gone insane. "
He accurately nailed it in this part. We're on the verge of that "Honest Demagogue" that would incite a dictatorship of ideas. The mood of the populous is close to accepting it. The only real unknown is what direction the dictatorship is going to take..right, left, center.....and that facet will determine how much harm comes to the victims of this prospect.

It's so sad that Prof. Chomsky doesn't appear regularly on any major networks. I understand why he wouldn't, it's against their interests, but it's still a shame.
