whip1ster - I can take on board your points (I have no preference to artist, simply enjoy the creativity of anamorphic work) - but I think you meant Edgar Mueller? The "style" is not really one to be copied, especially with the invention of algorythmic 3D software - but it has become (like most art forms) a genre which will always be open to the call of "copycat" - personally I like that art is brought underfoot & causes passers by to stop & interact with the space that surrounds them.

Ive seen this spot in so many skate films nice one Julian.....

@whip1ster there is a style of art called trompe l'oeil - the creating of art drawn at an angle to make the drawing look 3d depending on the angle you are looking at it from. Julian beever did in fact not steal or copy this idea, he recreated a form of this art that is strangly unusual but in fact, there are also numerous other artists that do the same. im sure julian has gave credit where credit is due, but he shouldnt feel obliged to do so, considering the circumstances.

Beever first attempted to make his work like that of Kurt Wenner (who invented 3D pavement art 10 years before Beever even tried it), and now he is copying the ideas of Edward Meuller. You should look at the work of the real artists and inventors of these images. Beever shamelessly copies the styles of others, never giving them credit, and often tries to claim their work as his own. I wish the public would wake up!
