You are correct. 12 lives from his Noble Phantasm God Hand.
But he also has the Noble Phantasm Nine Lives, which is an attack.
That is not in the anime, however. Just the VN.

@shadowofdancingleaf i thought he had 12 lives like the 12 trials hercules had to go through each trial was a life of course its been months since i saw the anime *waiting on it in the mail*

I love Archer! XD This AMV is amazing. I was so sad when Archer fought Berserker and died. If Berserker didn't have 9 lives then Archer would have beaten him easily. I mean Archer killed him six times before Berserker could kill him once. He's definitely the coolest servant and the best anime character ever (and I have also seen a lot of anime ^^ ).
