Here's me giving some Propel bottles what they deserve with my new Springfield XD. 45 ACP 5in. tactical model (full size) in the lovely Nevada desert. Think of it as a combo of a Glock 17 and a 1911 45 ACP. Really awesome firearm.

  • Anyone own the new .40 S&W XDm? Would it be worth trading my .45 tactical model here? I'm very much leaning toward one at the moment, a bi-tone hopefully. And packing 16 rnds in one mag, that's just awesome.

  • Just curious guys for all you XD owners out there... have any one of had problems with that slide retaining pin on top of the slide by any chance?

  • are thos really worth 2,000$ and how are mark.23s compared to thos if anyone knows please reply thanks!

  • whoa, way too much. you can pick the xd 45 up for around $500-600 easy. one of the places here in utah had the service model package for $450. I bet it performs as well as a $2000 HK MK23. the military won't touch the xd or glock because they don't have any external safety features yet. the new models coming out will though so I'm psyched for that.

  • how many clips bro does that 45acp xd have?

  • All XD's come with two clips, 13 rds each if your getting the tactical or service models. and each clip bought elsewhere costs over $30 so you're getting a pretty good deal with the package, including both plastic gun and magazine holster.

  • If you need a manually safety you shouldn't be carrying a gun.

  • @MadFuzzball I've seen people shoot themselves and have accidental discharges with and without a safety.. Its not a safety net, accidents happen because of a lapse in concentration or distraction, I know from experience. A seat belt saves your life in the same manner as a kevlar vest, it works because its there. A manual safety is like the brake pedal, it doesn't do anything for you if you fail to use it correctly which in times of panic, lapse or distraction generally doesn't happen..

  • @Prometheus203 This statement is one of ignorance. That is like saying "If you need a seatbelt you shouldnt be driving.

It is not something that is required. However, it is something most shooters should be comfortable with. One does not have to thumb the safety if they do not want to keep in mind.

  • XD .45. For the record, just got done with three days of shooting. 1600 rounds of PMC Bronze, zero issues, nada. The only problem I had was seeing my front sight post because of the build up and the stock sights that do not help my old eyes. Great piece of gear (the pistol, not my eyes).

  • @ryotaryuu / Or you could say that the .40 bridges the gap, giving you decent capacity and decent power. Who says you need to choose power over capacity? Many would argue the .40 gives you both. For example the Glock 22 gives you 15 round mag capacity in a .40. I own 9mm, .40 and .45 and while I agree with you that .45 is an ideal round for "protection" I still say the 9mm isn't in in the debate compared to .40 and .45.

  • he lost all his ammo shells :(

  • I had one 4in was good not very accurate and gotta shoot 7 o clock.

it did have a better trigger than a block and stainless mags beat plastic.

as to the "don't need a safety" of course not if you only shoot at the range and never load it around other people.

a safety is not just for the shooter it keeps kids from firing it so easy, it also in many cases protects from accidental discharge from dropping.

in this gun there is a grip safety to balance things out.

  • With handguns you need to think of one of two things concidering protection. High capacity or big stopping power. A 9mm is a great choice for high capacity. You could have up to 20 rds to shoot if needed. A .45 is also a great choice because it has super stopping power. You always know that if you hit someone with a .45 they are going down. The .40 s&w does neither well. Lower capacity with less power. stick with your .45.

  • @jakleist nope.

  • Take of that sweety :)

  • So how do you feel about the Glock 30?
