When Videon Cable-tv finally upgraded its cable system to 35-channel capacity, it was able to offer more channels. This clip explains the different packing options available at the time. September 1987.

  • In 1987 cable only gave you about 7 additional channels?? wtf? now you get at least 50 or 60 total channels with cable

  • Much Music channel has been around since 1987?? I thought it was new! wow Wtf is financial news network? is that what "bloomberg" used to be? never heard of it

  • This is when they upgraded from notch-interference filters (170 & 171 mhz) to the addressable Zenith-PM/PZ descrambler.

    Such a nice hackable box.

    I doubt anyone still uses that system anymore.

  • my life was never the same in the fall of 87..finally after a 3 year wait, being able to watch MuchMusic and TSN. It was only on Cablevision up until that time.

  • And you can get all those for free now.

  • I know! I thought MuchMusic was a mid or late nineties thing.

  • I didn't know MuchMusic (now Fuse) still exists in the 80s.
