Kind of a slapped together 3 part blog on how you can edit in a 24 fps timeline using the Sony V1U Camera.
Shoot your footage with the camera set on 24A. Then Set your capture preset in FCP to Apple ProRes 422 HQ

  • Ok, I'm confused. I heard, not too long ago from a tutorial, that we should shoot in 24a because most nle programs can't accept 24p but the guy didn't elaborate on it. I own a sony hvr z7u and I always shoot in progressive rec type 24p and I have know problem logging and capturing 24p footage into final cut pro 7. In easy setup, my configs are format: hdv, use: 1080p24 fw basic and rates: 23.98. Have I been doing this wrong the whole time? if i shot in 24a, would footage look more film like?
