Kind of a slapped together 3 part blog on how you can edit in a 24 fps timeline using the Sony V1U Camera. Shoot your footage with the camera set on 24A. Then Set your capture preset in FCP to Apple ProRes 422 HQ
Ok, I'm confused. I heard, not too long ago from a tutorial, that we should shoot in 24a because most nle programs can't accept 24p but the guy didn't elaborate on it. I own a sony hvr z7u and I always shoot in progressive rec type 24p and I have know problem logging and capturing 24p footage into final cut pro 7. In easy setup, my configs are format: hdv, use: 1080p24 fw basic and rates: 23.98. Have I been doing this wrong the whole time? if i shot in 24a, would footage look more film like?
