Two float switches detect when water in the sump or refugium is low. Activates a pump to refill to the proper level. If the upper float switch fails, there is a third backup float switch which shuts down the entire device from working and sounds an alarm until the lower two float switches are checked. Has a push button to bypass and manual fill the sump. Has a main power switch and a switch to turn of the speaker. Not added yet is a fourth switch in the fresh water reservoir which when the water supply is low, will also shut down everything and sound an alarm. See my other video ATO tour.

  • Updates, this is a great system that my tank needs.

  • @GroinStabbingPro Someday I'll get around to making a kit of some sort.

  • Any update on this project? It's been quite a while.

  • @bbalak Sorry, as you can see from my other videos, the RC boat is my priority and is a long slow build since I have to make EVERYTHING myself. I'm always thinking I want to get back and make a semi-kit of this ATO. My intentions are still there, just don't know when, but since this one I came up with new ideas I want to add to it.

  • Sweet DIY !!!!!!

  • @vavoomskill Thanks. It was not easy. Many hours to design it.

  • @toxicfrost123 This is designed to use 120vac and 12vdc. The 120vac powers the pump through a relay and also powers the circuit board with 12dc from a small brick type power supply.

  • @rashiidefukazumi The pump is AC, it is connected to one of the outlets on the ATO. It's an Aqua Lifter AQ-20 pump. Low current draw type pump.

  • @varmman I'd like to find a better sound, but the point of the annoying sound is to notify me that something is wrong, either a float switch is stuck or the fresh water supply is empty. It works, and it sucks when it goes off at 2am. Needs a timer to work during non-sleeping hours.

  • That sound gonna annoy your fish! anyway, this is brillian though

  • btw the pump is AC or DC supply??

  • can i run this of a 12v or do i need to use a relay?
