Asafa Powell bettered his world record in the 100 meters Sunday (September 9, 2007), running 9.74 seconds at the Rieti Grand Prix. Damn this guy is fast.

@TheDuncan1987 oh i see, i get it now, so once top speed is reached, it is impossible to accelerate or speed up even more right?? no wonder people who tense up and look like they are running fast actually end up running a slow time because they are wasting all the energy tensing their facial/neck muscles when they should really put the effort into their running and maintaining their speed instead.

@junmun123 I think he means the way asafa moves ( relaxed, easy going ) makes it look like he is not going fast. It's because of this relaxation his time was so fast. after 70-75 meters you cannot accelerate anymore, the more relaxer yet powerfull you run the better the time will become. yet he slowed down ofcourse so time could have been even better

hes fast but the way he runs makes him look slow..either way hes fast as hell he got the record despite slowing up at the end anif he had ran full speed al the way he could probably have got 9:70 NICE JOB ASAFA!!
