That being said, the city does have many cons. Unemployment rate is up, crime is rising, there's graffiti all over, the RER (subway) smells horrible and is filled with weird ppl, and the cost of living is astronomical.
I've been to NYC many, many times and while I think it's a great city, I believe Paris is much, much better. There's more to do and the transportation system far exceeds that of NY.
Just remember that visiting a place is not the same as living there.
