Pretty impressive the lift numbers these can have too, and just with the stock 1.5 ratio rockers. Damn, 1.6 makes it like a roller.
The lifter type, will be a tough choice on this next projects engine. On one hand I want to go back to super simple, but on the other, I know the rollers have some big perks too.

What cam did you put in???? Sounds really nice, and snapy/quick reving. I'm just making my way back into owning older iron, and to start I just got a parts hauler orig 440 Sportsman van.
Any other engine details would be great too. Love the sound of this.

Its a Hughes HTL4248BS solid cam. Good Luck with your project. Thanks for the comment.

Ahh, cool, and I just had the Hughes site opened up too. That's a nice grind. I could see running that one in a car forsure. Reminds me on the duration side of the old 509 DC Purpleshaft. Which I've run in a 340 years ago. Really do like the specs on this modern cam. Any other specs on your engine? Cubes, compression, heads, intake, carb, etc.???? Unfortunately, with my initial project here, I'll have to keep the duration a little more tame, but could still see going with a Hughes valve tickler.

Hughes makes some good stuff. Its a 69 440 block stock bore/stroke, 9.3:1 compression, 440 Source stealth heads, eddy RPM intake, 850 Proform carb. Still performs good on the street but can go to the track and run some descent numbers.
