@lchazl really? well i guess you can see them more often? bape became really lame to the "main stream" people after mid 2000s, and people from the country-side wheres them thinking that it's cool, lol but the "main stream" people are people that are really into fashion. for normal people its still a high brand

@igajun1 Oh interesting, what's the Bape scene in Tokyo like? I used to be a huge fan of that stuff but now I don't wear it. (Still have 2 pairs of bapestas, will always treasure those).

@lchazl have you heard that bape got taken over by this chinese company, and all the stores shut down temporally but now it's back in business. i think there's still lots of people wearing bapes around here, i don't see much ice cream no more but i still see lots of bbc's. well things might have changed cuz i haven't been to harajuku district in a while

@igajun1 REALLY? bape has been bought? interesting b/c I live in Shanghai now and I've been to the store twice, not much interest anymore but that might help explain why they're here, and if it's doing ok, then definitely in many more cities in China.

@lchazl oops, sorry it was a hongkong company, i just looked it up, it has been bought at 1/31/2011, and in the article it says that bape had lots of dept, and nigo just had to let it go. it also says that nigo's gonna stay as a designer for 2 more years but there's no plan after that. the company that bought bape is called i.t. have you ever heard of it??

@igajun1 o yea, they're in Shanghai. It's like a department store in malls where the departments are just 3rd party stores, for e.g lacoste, fcuk, now bape maybe.
