School Is A Prison - If we really want to change education in America we need to re-think the whole system: Search "School is a Prison"

Notice the high concentration of minority students. GEE, COULD THERE BE A CORRELATION.

@MsJanetWood I flunked a coupla times during grade school and high school, quit and went to work. Finally, after my tour with the US Army in which I had to get a GED...I went to college and graduated. Now, I have a better quality of life and all this despite bad teachers and schools. I grew up poor most of my life. So, if you are a teacher shame on you for your lousy attitude.

@woodlandsartgal No. Why?

Like if you think the captions are off

@welendo yes they report on the kids' family lives. And i see what you're saying about education beginning at home. In my area, parent involvement is pretty much the deciding factor in a student's success. But this film definitely highlights the fact that in most cases in America, a student's success is dependent on BOTH family involvement and good teachers.

First of all, as mentioned in this video, the schools arn't providing a well enough education. So getting more schooling, isn't going to help much, overall. Secondly, Schooling is only an outlet of education, it is not THE education. The most understandable and useful education one can recieve comes from interacting in extreme situations and learning from reality, not from something presented in a classroom.
I thought this was actually a new Superman movie.

In foreign countries, there is no SOCIAL PROMOTION. If a student fails, he must repeat the entire year . . . AGAIN!
In America, it is literally impossible to "flunk" a student!
A teacher must attend a "special retention meeting", where she must present her case to a panel of experts.
Even, if the team agrees to retain the student, the parents can still veto their decision!
That is how you end up with junior high kids that don't know their time tables and read at a 2nd grade level!
