  • This is unique in the history of recording....Gould interprets not only on the piano but also with the recording technique: He used four different microfone positions: 1. close to the piano 2. a bit farer 3. middle position 4. far and his use of them depend e.g. on the "character" of the canonical imitation. Is it very strict, the mic is closer, is it more free, it is far. With this tecnique he produces a kind of acoustic zoom-effect...

  • La vision de Glenn Gould sur Sibelius est unique, et le regard du plus perfectionniste des interprètes sur une oeuvre qui renferme encore des secrets psychologiques que peu de musiciens arivent à percer est précieux.
