I see what you're saying, (though I do like this feature), but you have to remember that Konami is Japanese, and the Japanese are bat shit crazy. Therefore trying to reason why is a trivial endeavor.

I know, I wouldn't want to look up extra item videos before I even finish it first. What I'm saying is just from day to day life if someone brought it up or if it came to mind I would want to think of it for the creepy parts or small details and sounds, not imagine a floating princess costume. It's hard to word it right how I'm thinking of it.. It just changes the meaning of it from horror to comedy instantly for me, the characters are nothing, the monsters are nothing, all empty.. Make sense?

You have to beat the game multiple times (kill 333 monsters) before you unlock this, so it really just adds to the replayability. You will have already experienced every terrifying moment of the game before you get any special perks, so this is really just so you can go back and have more fun messing with stuff.

I think I prefer games to be more serious, especially horror games. I don't know about you guys but when they throw strange jokes in there it ruins the whole atmosphere and feeling I get when I think or hear "Silent Hill" It is a little funny, but then the rest of it is just one big joke and it takes the enjoyment away. I gonna guess that no one else really cares but I felt like putting that out there...
