If we thought for a moment that our superiors would allow it, our review of the absurdly powerful 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG would consist only of these four words:

Whoa...'gain, 'gain, 'gain!

So elemental is the appeal of this, this engine with a car attached to it, that even the year-and-a-half-old child riding in the backseat feels it. As we got into the throttle and the CLS surged forward in a series of bursts through the city streets, it was she who uttered those four words, again and again and again.

  • @4MATICbenz Oh sorry i must i have thought of the CLS500 when i typed this comment.

  • @vili567 , MBUSA (very conservatively) estimates low 5s for the 07-11 CLS550. But actual instrumented testing has the CLS550 at 4.7 sec 0-60 in a 2007 car and driver road test. Look it up.

  • @4MATICbenz Are you sure the CLS550 runs 4.7 0-60 isnt it like over 5 seconds?

  • @4MATICbenz in a race....5 car lengths is a huge difference!

  • @BMW130ii , from 0-60, you'd be shocked how close a much less powerful CLS550 comes to the CLS63. As much as I love the 6.2L AMG V8, I think it's a little low on torque in the low end (unlike the MB 5.5L V8 engines) and im skeptical of its max power output rating. A torquier CLS55 AMG with 50 less horsepower is faster from virtually any speed up to 150 mph. There are videos to back this claim up.

  • @zenenmoro , That depends on how long the race you have in mind is and on your perception of "huuge". From a 40 mph roll, im certain a CLS550 will hang on to a CLS63 for about 2~3 sec, and once above 65 mph the AMG will begin to pull at a rate of <1/3 car length per second. Even in a standing start 1/4 mile, the difference seperating a CLS550 and a CLS63 is only about 5 carlengths. It'd have to be a pretty long race (even at highway speeds) to see a huuge difference between the two cars.

  • @4MATICbenz ok and when the road keeps going? from around a 40 mph roll the difference would be huuge!

  • What a strange (stupied) comment in the video: " Non AMG CLS 550... and a 63 is no faster or quicker" ???

Differnce almoust of 150HP is no difference?!

  • ya good one ..one of the most liked cls

  • @TheCarMasta13 , A CLS550 runs 4.7sec 0-60. The CLS63 AMG is surprisingly only a tiny bit faster.

And for God's sake, learn how to spell, please!
